Homeless Serendipity
Prologe
The arrival of summer coincided with my fate only exemplified by the person sleeping covered with cardboard boxes. Was that silent amble walk through the company's hallway a clue to my undesired lifestyle?

Technical Writing
The following characteristics shapes the writing process to fit the desired outcome. Communicating your ideas, needs, and wants in writing is essential in all forms of writing styles. Although there is exceeding important values in composing literature in the form of short stories and technical documents, there are also distinctions which allow each of the writing styles to stand on its own.
The arrangement of events and action in a short story is displayed in the plot. The plot is the literary element that describes the structure; it begins with the exposition, followed by rising action, climax, and then the falling action and last to the resolution. In the same way technical documents such as lab reports, instructions, diagrams, and many other forms of professional writings, need to display a since of organizational format. For example, a document on how to perform a specific task will begin with an introduction, background information, followed by sequentially ordered steps and last a conclusion. If any of the above structures are not in order, it will create chaos for the reader and or audience.
The short story is another example that causes chaos, is the story from Ernest Hemingway, titled “Hills Like White Elephants.” In this short story Hemingway creates his style from the Modernist movement. This depicts a disruption in syntax, form and does not give a concise resolution. The story begins with a couple sitting at a train station in the middle of Spain discussing the decision of whether the lady should have an abortion. In the story the word abortion is never directly implied, instead you have to figure this plot for yourself. However, your instructions have to be concise and to the point. If this style of writing is used in a technical document it fails to deliver the information. Therefore, the instructions will not only confuse the reader, but it will make it difficult to follow the given procedure.
To compose an essay or short story dependents heavily on the imagination of the author and the story may be fiction or nonfiction. However, in a technical document which can be used in a court of law, and has ethical value, the document must be all written in nonfiction. There will be a time and place for imagination in a technical documents as in the style and color or the graphs, as well as in the tone.
The rhetoric situation has different styles depending upon the literature.
According to Edward T. Channing, who composed the “Lectures Read to the Seniors at Harvard College,” states that the definition of rhetoric is:
A body of rules derived from experience and observation, extending to all communication by language and designed to make it efficient. It does not ask whether a man is to be a speaker or writer, --a poet, philosopher, or debater; but simply,--is it his wish to be put in the right way of communicating his mind with power to others, by words spoken or written. If so, rhetoric undertakes to show him rules or principles which will help to make the expression of his thoughts effective.
These statements summaries the similarities between composing a short story to technical documents.

On Nature
The stars represent nature and illuminate the night sky like the joy of childhood on a summer night playing and capturing light bugs with your hands. This curiosity should not wither way like a willow tree with each passing year.

Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi...Thoughts On Flow
Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, author of “Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience,” describes flow as “being completely involved in an activity for its own sake. The ego falls away. Time flies. Every action, movement, and thought follows inevitably from the previous one, like playing jazz. Your whole being is involved, and you’re using your skills to the utmost.” Csikszentmihalyi’s ideas on flow stemmed from his attempt to discover a path to happiness. He wanted to figure out “how to live life as a work of art, rather than as a chaotic response to external events.”
Whenever I sit at my desk to compose a piece of literature for an English class, while surrounded by my treasured books, I become transported to another place. As if my mind unknowingly boarded a plane to Istanbul, while my body remands in the chair. Since time passes me by quickly like a falling star, I find myself missing where I put those lost hours. Even though I can’t remember how many hours pass my by, I’m always amazed with my finished project. My stomach does not register that I’m hungry; I only need water to maintain my consistent flow of writing.
Therefore, I’m always excited to receive writing assignments it gives me an opportunity to be in my own flow.

The Voice You Fail To Hear.....
My iron string warned me of death and oh how I regret not listening. I should have insisted my best friend to listen to me when I asked her..
“Are you certain that your in-laws will take good care of her? Can you really trust them?”
Her reply was… “She raised two sons of her own.”
Heart racing, hands sweating, I should have canceled my return flight home from Dayton, Ohio in the sad summer of ’03 and maybe my best friend’s adorable five year old girl would live to ride her pink bike down the street one more time..If only I’d listen to my iron string…If only I insisted upon not to let Vickie’s ex-husband’s mother to watch Megan on that first Monday of June…If only I used different words and maybe with a stern voice.
I boarded the plane home and for the next three hours of my flight home, Megan’s image on her bicycle of long fancy, fabulous, full blond hair blowing freely in the wind, eyes concentrating on the street, wearing her favorite white shorts, with the word Princess written in shine silver across the front of her pink shirt, filled my thoughts..It was the last I will ever see of her!
When the plane landed and phone service was authorized by the flight crew, my cell phone lit up like a blinking Christmas tree. Hands shaking, eyes crying, head down, I knew the messages. Megan was gone…The cause of death. The foolish ex-mother-in-law allowed Megan to ride on the tractor for fun with huge sharp spinning blades attached to the back of the machine….Little Megan slipped from her seat and the door was ajar…
The coffin was light pink Megan’s favorite color…The coffin remained closed.
From that day to the present, I ALWAYS listen to the iron string!
